Haven't seen much of him recently bar the Barca games in CL and have to say, he was bloody class.

Saying that, there's always a gamble signing players coming towards the end of their peak and, as someone already mentioned, seems to have some injury problems.

I wonder if we were interested or if we're still blind to the fact that the midfield needs upgrading*?

*unless Emre Can steps it up, which is possible, but it's going into the season with probabilities rather than certainties.

I think Carrick is an excellent & underrated player. Certainly a key player in United's passing game.
