Yes they addressed their issues last summer and were able to re-establish themselves as a top 4 team. Something I'm hoping we do this summer.

Add Herrera to that and they have got a really good midfield.

With Paddy McNair and Tyler Blackett in defence, the midfield needs to be rock solid
        Football without Origi is nothing

If they can get a couple of decent central defenders they've got the makings of genuine title challengers as painful as that is to say.

They're doing the exact opposite of what we did last year, signing quality players who strengthen their starting eleven.

Who knows how these big signings will work out. Falcao & Di Maria flopped big time.

ADM was fantastic at the start and I think he will be again. He's a class player, unfortunately that will come through.

They have bought well. They are a striker and CB away from a great squad

Aye, it's some good buys and off loading Nani and Van Persie have done wonders wage wise.

Darmian I'm not to certain about, but Schweinsteiger and likely Schneiderlin are very good buys for a shaky midfield. Still have weaknesses at the defence and need a good striker, but it's getting there in terms of being competitive. I reckon they need more than one of each though, as there is no quality there right now.

Isn't Schweingsteiger past it? He could be their Gerrard for the season, a player they need to play every game because of his name but one who is not quite the player he used to be. The Schneiderlin signing is a bit unfortunate for us.

He's a big name and a leader who could be an excellent player to have around the place, given Van Gaal's use of youngsters last year.

Worrying, but inevitable, what's going on there. They should be way ahead of us this season.

That's Chelsea, City, United and Arsenal all considerably stronger than us.

We're a real, massive longshot for top 4 now aren't we?

Yeah unfortunately they are in such a better financial position than us. They've seen an opportunity to make themselves a mainstay in teh champs league again & are spending big. Last season they spent big to stop the rot and get back into the champs league... and they did.

It's a bit sick alright as they have signed 3 really quality players so far in this window. IMO they'll get a top CB & top CF. If so, they really will be a title contenders.

Well I'm still hoping they serve up schit on a schtick football next season. LvG is not unknown for it.
