I reckon it's Giggs now and Pep in the summer. Mourinho is available now, so wouldn't make sense to have Giggs as interim.
    Are we winning?

I hope it is Giggs, he is the sole reason for their demise

It can't be Giggs or Woodward will be facing the sack; surely he can't make too many more mistakes after Moyes and Van Gaal. He's got to find a big name.

          4 hrs 10m to go.

          I am still feeling confident.

Surely if they think they will get Guardiola in the summer they may as well let van Gaal see the season out, Giggs as interim manager won't do any/much better. If they sack van Gaal anytime soon surely it's to bring in Mourinho?
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Indeed as Mourinho is always a stop gap for all clubs before he leaves for another club....no continuity.

Is continuity even important any more?

LFC have had 5 year plans upon 5 year plans and the league had eluded us for 24 years.

Better to get someone in who can do a job short term, then leave it for another person to win stuff short term, than have a continual meander into nowhere I reckon.

Long term stability is a misnomer from where I'm sat.
                  Oh I don't know.

Utd do not think they will get Guardiola whatever the hacks might suggest. Last night City had a "six pointer" against Arsenal and blew it again. That's where he is going. City not Arsenal

IMO it depends on the money the club has and the amount that the owners are prepared to throw at making the club successful. The likes of Man City and Chelsea can afford to spend a few hundred million quid net on players who could bring them success immediately but are reaching their peak with little or no resale value a couple of years later, at which point they need to go out and spend another few hundred million quid to keep them at or close to the top.

Clubs such as ourselves can't afford to do something like that, we spend big but much of that money has been raised through selling our best players and adding a bit of money from the club and we find ourselves in a constant state of trying move forward after taking one step back. Man Utd are an interesting case as the club raises alot of money but how prepared the owners are to spend it is the question for them.

Man Utd are now in a similar position to where we have been in recent years, they have lost some of their best players and influencial figures at the club and are trying to replace them and get back to where they were. They haven't been forced to sell their best players yet but if they have a few more years of not quite making it to the CL then they could find themselves in a similar position to us -struggling to break back into the top 4 or moving beyond it.

Who the heck are Utd's best players? They have no one that is vital to them really, rather like Liverpool. They have spent 350m since Fergie left and like Liverpool have got very little tangible for the outlay. A least Liverpool sell well as a rule.

I hope Utd fans don't expect the quality of the football to improve if they swap Maureen for LVG.

I'm sure throwing darts at a list of names would yield better transfer value!

Twitter full of LVG gone in the next 24 hours and Mourinho in.
