I agree an external interim seems like a mental proposition. They obviously think the season can be salvaged in some respects hence not wanting to limp along with the likes of Carrick

And then the 'salvager' has a decent shout at getting the gig full time. With the cancerous thought in the back of his mind of knowing he wasn't initially considered good enough.

Remember when OGS got his first full time contract, they didnt win in something like 12 games.

“Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.”

    Modifying post.

Ole has been on his way out at least since we battered them, they'd have been mad to not have been looking at options. I don't think sticking with Carrick is really sensible, as do that they might as well have kept Ole. Surely they then have to bring someone temporary in on the understanding that there is no possibility of an extension regardless of what happens as there is someone else waiting in the wings. Obviously no one is going to give up a job to manage them for six months so they are looking at someone who is currently out of a job, Valverde, Bruce, Hughes etc.
Bruce and Hughes i can understand given the ex-player connection.

Should have clarified my earlier point. I think it's mental to consider a external interim who has no previous connection to the club.

Aside from a couple of million quid what's in it for Valverde? Change to put himself in the shop window? It's almost a no one situation for the likes of him.

Whoever manages them until the end of the season will be working with the same **** coaches and no proper game playing style or strategy.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

OGS doing 'alright' and beating (was it) PSG in the CL a few seasons ago has cost them about 3 years of progress.

If anyone actually watched that PSG game, they couldn't say that United weren't lucky as ****. It was pre-VAR and they got so ****in lucky that night.

That dope Ole was asked about "that night in Paris" in his departure interview. The clown went on about some photo he has of him, Slur Alex and Eric Cantona in the dressing room after the game. I still have the memories of that magical night blah blah blah...... The way they were talking about "that night in Paris" is as if they won the trophy - or went on to win it. They have gone so ****in small time. It was the round of 16......and they went on to the quarter final to face Barca.......where they lost 4-0 on aggregate

Don't worry dick heads.......we sorted out Barca and got respect back for english football in the semi!!!

            !
Nah, it was a 94th minute dodgy VAR penalty that won them the game

I mean it's a high profile job, he's out of work at the moment and it's probably well paid, yes there are some downsides but that's the case with alot of jobs especially if it's only a short term appointment
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Fat Sham would be the perfect interim manager for these cunts

Poch has been found out...he can't handle big name players....If Utd want him good luck as his level is Southampton or over achieving at a top six club like Spurs...and how's that move worked out for you Gini? hmmmmm ..you should have stayed at Liverpool.

Rangnick strikes me as a disappointingly thoughtful and good move for them. Someone who actually knows what he's doing. Bugger.

Hopefully this turns into a Roy Hodgsonesque appointment. **Hopefully**

After the interim role he’ll surely move upstairs to a DoF type role and be in charge of identifying their next long term head coach too.

They might actually be getting their **** together.

Yeah apparently he has a two year deal to do exactly that. Annoying.

'The godfather of Gegenpressing' has some work to do to get that team working hard.
