Hasn't alot of the money that he has put into Chelsea been a loan? I'm sure I read somewhere that Chelsea owe Abramovich (or his companies or whatever) something of order £1bn. If there are sanctions against him what does that mean for these loans?

I don't think anyone can claim to know for sure.

If he still owns it, the day to day running is unchanged, and the club is insulated there would be no need to do it. I would like to think that shuffling assets around on paper doesn't protect from the intentions of sanctions.

Think I read it was closer to £1.5bn. Unless he recalls the loan (which he won't) then things carry on as normal I would say?
