That’s literally what sanctions are doing to the Russian population to get to that one man! Is that wrong?Originally posted by Alex View PostI probably shouldnt have mentioned my friend as it seems to have drawn fire.
Im just talking about normal people who work hard and just want to go the game and support their club. He didn't ask for Abramovich, hes a pretty socially consious person who doesnt like his clubs owner. But whats he supposed to do? If someone told me to stop supporting Liverpool I couldn't. We didn't ask for Hicks and Gillett either (its lucky we didnt win anything under those cowboys and it could have been a lot worse
)
But its punishing the wrong people. To get one man, they are going after normal people. :handshake:

Taking their money and putting it to good use is disempowering them. Chelsea fans will be loathe to be paying for tickets that will be going anywhere except their club coffersOriginally posted by cannotmakeit View PostThat’s literally what sanctions are doing to the Russian population to get to that one man! Chelsea have a schools football and grassroots program. Another friend of mine works as a coach for it, unsure he’s gonna have a job soon. So that’ll be good for himOriginally posted by Scratch View PostLet them sell tickets, all proceeds go to grassroots football. Problem solved?
*Except Michael, who died.

I'm pretty sure he meant lower league grass roots but personally I think giving it directly to Unicef or a Ukraine relief fund would be more appropriateOriginally posted by Alex View PostChelsea have a schools football and grassroots program. That’s a huge outlay for them…….their sugar Daddy days are over - he needs to make that back and more. V hard to sell it for a profit given their size relative to other more organic clubsOriginally posted by Shaggy View Post

Agreed, how can Chelsea be worth that sort of money, they'd have been better off with the Ineos guy, at least he has said the club would not have been a vehicle for profit as he makes shedloads elsewhere, that 3 billion odd will need to be repaid somehow.Originally posted by Norbs View PostWhat a monumental waste of money
