They’ve already been heavily compensated for the current upheaval; 19 years of success funded by dirty money gave them the rewards for that, a couple of FA cup games as the cost is hardly worthy of much sympathy tbh.

I know it’s not their fault but they milked it and not one player, fan, manager ever questioned the morality of taking Roman’s I’ll gotten money
**** Em - I hope they go bankrupt and back to the mediocre club they were pre Abramovich……. They were going into administration when he bought them
Modifying post.

I just don't see missing a couple of matches as that much of a hardship, regardless of the humongous upsides before getting to this stage. I also won't make it to any more live matches this season through no fault of my own, but as long as we're successful, that's all that matters.Originally posted by Alex View PostIm just saying, normal working people are being punished for the sins of a Billionaire Oligarch. There has to be a way to do it to punish him and not the fans.
I get the point you are making and obviously your mate is at the forefront of your thinking, but personally I have no sympathy at all.If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

**** him. He sounds like a cuntOriginally posted by Alex View PostBut that literally is tarring everyone with the same brush. Mate of mine supports Chelsea and has done since ive known him as a kid and he hates a lot of them. The reputation 1% of fans give all Chelsea fans is pretty damaging.
Hes gutted though, goes to 2-3 games a season through general sale, cant get a ticket now.
(Only joking!!!)
I do get what you say about the fans not being able to attend. The spirit of the ruling is that Roman doesn't profit from ticket sales.....surely the government - or whoever is controlling the club now - could simply ensure that any profit from ticket sales / matchday revenue doesn't go to Abramovich by some mechanism??? Maybe that would be that it is donated to charity or something???

I probably shouldnt have mentioned my friend as it seems to have drawn fire.Originally posted by RedReet View PostI just don't see missing a couple of matches as that much of a hardship, regardless of the humongous upsides before getting to this stage. Im just talking about normal people who work hard and just want to go the game and support their club. He didn't ask for Abramovich, hes a pretty socially consious person who doesnt like his clubs owner. But whats he supposed to do? If someone told me to stop supporting Liverpool I couldn't. We didn't ask for Hicks and Gillett either (its lucky we didnt win anything under those cowboys and it could have been a lot worse
)
But its punishing the wrong people. To get one man, they are going after normal people.
*Except Michael, who died.

The fans are just fans of the club, a lot of them would have been there before Roman, or supporting it as a result of proximity or family. If this was us it would be devastating.
Fans being punished for supporting a club is the worst, and while rivalry is one thing. Id hate it if the shoe was on the other foot. We have zero control who owns us. The Government allowing Chelsea to raffle off the tickets to local charities and good causes would be probably a better way than stopping the fans.
For a neutral stadium like Wembley, something like that would make sense or doing something where Chelsea fans could buy tickets for Wembley direct from the FA with none of the proceeds going to CFC.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

I've often said that if the likes of the Saudi's or the Chinese governments (or vehicles of) were to purchase us then i'd stop following the club, purchasing merchandise, subscribing to sky sports etc for as long as they remained in control of the club.Originally posted by Alex View PostI probably shouldnt have mentioned my friend as it seems to have drawn fire.

Obviously an individual choice but if you feel strongly enough about a situation then you should have the courage of your convictions to see it through.

Maybe just fill it with cardboard cut outs and pre-recorded obscenities and racist chanting. That's the correct answer, and ditto every other game they can attend. FA should buy up their allocation for all remaining games and re-sell it.Originally posted by Jaco_Pastorious View PostFor a neutral stadium like Wembley, something like that would make sense or doing something where Chelsea fans could buy tickets for Wembley direct from the FA with none of the proceeds going to CFC.

They finished 4th in the Ken Bates era when he ran them to near bankruptcy - one league and a handful of cups in their history. They are similar to West Ham or QPR historicallyOriginally posted by Alex View PostThey finished 4th the season before they got brought. Its not the same as City.
I feel sorry for your mate but I suspect he is not the norm for Chelsea fans - I doubt they had many fans give up on them based on their owner. I do wonder if we were bought by China for example how many fans would walk away
