In going to Hearts games, I have found Rangers fans to be that absolute worst, complete and utter horrible c*nts and I can think of so many, many reasons where I think they have had this coming.

Their fall from grace has been at times amusing but genuinely remarkable. Given they were competing in the Europa League final in 2008 - to see them this close to the edge is unbelievable. David Murray has dodged a massive bulolet in getting himself out of the firing line in all of this.

That said, we all share a passion for football and different clubs, and to contemplate having that taken away (as we as LFC supporters nearly did) is unfathomable. So I have the tiniest modicum of sympathy there.

Rangers' Lee McCulloch given two-game ban for stamp

Rangers captain Lee McCulloch has been banned for two games after being found guilty of stamping on Raith Rovers forward Dale Carrick.
McCulloch, 36, was initially offered the suspension by the Scottish FA's compliance officer but the defender contested the violent conduct charge.
He will miss Rangers' league meeting with Hibernian on Friday and the Ibrox side's next Scottish Cup game.
The incident with Carrick took place during Raith's cup win on Sunday.
In his notice of complaint, compliance officer Tony McGlennan cited a breach of Disciplinary Rule 200, stating: "In that at the above match you did deliberately stand upon Dale Carrick of Raith Rovers FC and commit an act of violent conduct."
With Rangers now out of the Scottish Cup, the second of McCulloch's two-game suspension will not be served until next season at the earliest.

Rangers: Steve Simonsen banned by SFA for gambling rule breach

Rangers keeper Steve Simonsen has been banned for two games after being found guilty of betting on 55 games following a hearing before an independent panel.
His two-match punishment for breaching Scottish Football Association gambling rules includes a one-game suspended ban until the end of the season.
The SFA can appeal against the judgement but Rangers say they themselves will not lodge an appeal.
None of the games Simonsen, 35, bet on involved Rangers.
Assistant manager Gordon Durie hopes the outcome of the hearing will send out a message to other players not to bet on football matches.
The notice of complaint issued to Simonsen by the SFA detailed bets on 18 matches last season and 37 in the current campaign.
SFA disciplinary rule 33 prohibits players, coaches, club officials and referees in Scotland from betting on football anywhere in the world.
With Hibernian visiting Rangers on Friday evening, Simonsen's immediate one-match ban makes him unavailable for the Scottish Championship fixture.
In September 2013, Simonsen's Ibrox team-mate Ian Black was fined and given a 10-match ban , seven of which were suspended, for a gambling breach.

From non-Glasgow based Sctos I have spoken to I would say no. In seasons past you needed both Celtis and Rangers to be **** to have a chance, now you only need Celtic to mess up - not really likely, but easier than both.

Plus it means another team getting into Europe and additional revenue for all concerned.

Inverness, Dundee United and Aberdeen doing very well in the league this season.

First time in as long as i care to remember that a non Old Firm club topped the league in January.

Aberdeen & Dundee United getting to cup finals.

St Johnstone winning last seasons Scottish Cup.

The standard of football may be pish but the league & cups are actually competitive.

Of course Celtic could still win the treble this season and all of the above would be rendered rubbish

Its been so much more fun following scottish football since Rangers fell apart. The only fly in the ointment are those bunch of ****s from Parkhead, but even they're the worst they have been for generations and prone to slipping up against the rest of the league. They still have huge resources in comparison to everyone else and the biggest squad, so yeah, they'll win everything. But every year that Rangers are away from it means the gap to the chasing pack is closing on Celtic. Its just a shame the Edinburgh clubs haven't been able to capitalise, but they're deserving of what happened to them too in their own way (Hibs for appointing a complete **** in Butcher and Hearts for living beyond their means for years - though that is a bit harsh on both of them).

Rangers are investigating after it emerged that a newly appointed director at Ibrox apparently tweeted a sexually explicit cartoon of the prophet Mohammed.

The message was sent from Chris Graham's Twitter account to radical Islamist preacher Anjem Choudary on the day of the Charlie Hebdo attack.

Mr Graham was appointed as a non-executive director at Ibrox on Tuesday.

South African businessman Dave King took charge of the club last week.

Barely 24 hours after his appointment, Mr Graham is at the centre of controversy about his activity on social media before he joined the board.

On 7 January, shortly after two gunmen had shot dead 12 people at the offices of the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo in Paris, the radical Islamist preacher Anjem Choudary sent a message on Twitter which read "freedom of expression does not extend to insulting the prophets of Allah, whatever your views on the events in Paris today!"

Mr Graham apparently replied by sending a cartoon depicting the prophet Mohammed engaged in an explicit homosexual act.

Part of the message accompanying the drawing read: "You probably won't like this one...then"

Mr Graham, who is 38-years-old, is well known among football fans for representing the Rangers Supporters Trust and running the Rangers Standard website.

His Twitter account is now restricted from public view.

A spokesman for Rangers said: "We are unaware of this but we will look into it."

Mr Graham has so far been unavailable for comment.
