it'd be worth getting rid of charlie adam just so we don't have to witness anymore of this 'adams' bull****.

i'd take £15m in a heartbeat and use the money to get a proper striker.

forgetting the price, swapping andy carroll for dempsey and rhodes would be a sensible option, and give us more options and GOALZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

I think we want to get closer to 20m, which imo is on the higher end of his potential value as I think his value is somewhere between 15-20m.

Still very young, English international that can score decent number of goals in the right setup.

It will be interesting to see if we will be sold but I wouldn't be surprised to see WHU come with better and improved offer at the last minute that may entice Carroll to consider it.

Big Sam wants him and presence of his mentor/friend Nolan and likelihood that he won't get any reasonable amount of playing time unless Borini is injured may cause him to reconsider.

Adams and Spearing on the other hand are taking space up in the car park.....

...rumours were Newcastle would go to £17m which is about as much as you could hope for him.

I'd take that, secure Dempsey and look to bring in another striker... given Lucas' injury Allen and Sahin can sit deep, while Stevie and Dempsey can play a more forward role...

17 million would be great business considering how much of a flop he's been. Snap their hands off!

If we cant get the required money for him, how about we make him our modern day chris sutton and play him at center back?

I know he was a £35m mistake, but in the last 10 minutes against City he showed why he's key to a change of plans. He almost scored and gave City's defence more of a problem than £28m Dzeko did against us.

there was some speculation that we didnt play him against Hearts so he wasnt then cup tied in case newcastle or someone came in for him.
if this is bollocks then he needs to play and shop window him.

Qualifying rounds don't count for cup-tied purposes in the competion proper.
                            Oh I don't know.

Would we benefit more from him being an impact sub or investing the potential 17m into players who would fit into Brendan's first team plans

The latter obviously. But I don't think we'll get £17m so for that reason I won't be too upset if he stayed.

If we can get the likes of Sahin (done) and Affellay (Mail rumour) then we're not looking for a cash amount to 'buy' players this season anyway. Maybe a bench role will help him focus his skills and nab a few goals thus sending his price higher next summer.
