The cost of bringing in those impact subs has to be weighed against the cost of letting Carroll goOriginally posted by Rigadon View PostWe paid £35m on the basis of one good season in the PL. In a season and a half with Liverpool, Carroll has (unfortunately) done nothing to justify half of that fee.
There are far cheaper 'impact subs' on the market.
It will cost us an arm and a leg to get rid of Carroll
Thats the problem I see at the club at the minute
there are players I'd be desperate to get rid of but in doing that we will have to offer financial incentives which dramatically reduce the cost benefit of letting them goBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

Did we though, i thought it was based on us having 50mill burning a hole in our pocket.Originally posted by Rigadon View PostWe paid £35m on the basis of one good season in the PL. In a season and a half with Liverpool, Carroll has (unfortunately) done nothing to justify half of that fee.

No he hasn't and his up turn in form at the tail end of last season still left him as a very average player with poor technique and positional sense.

FSG + release of funds + Rodgers knows his **** = Carroll out now. You don't even need parenthesis to work this one out.
Coming up next week: Brendan puts his left shoe on before his right. In a clear statement to his wife on their wedding night he said he would always put the right boot on first, but within weeks he reneged on his promises.
I seriously doubt that and in fact I think most posters here have seen more of Carroll last year that BR.

Names dammit, give me some names of players who will be better than AC. And who will be subs.Originally posted by Rigadon View PostAny striker that can get more than 4 goals a season and is cheaper than £35m.

Quite. For most of the season he was slightly less effective than David Ngog. But because he ended the season being slightly less effective than Peter Crouch he's on the verge of greatness and the manager/club are mad for wanting rid.Originally posted by Mattshark View PostHalf a good season!

Only a fool would fail to see the improvement in Carroll towards the end of last season. He looked a genuine threat and whilst I would sell him for anything upwards of £20m I would be loathed to see him shipped out on loan whilst we have no comparable alternative."Its not about the long ball or the short ball, its about the right ball." lets face it, Brenners has seen carrol unless he has walked round with his eyes closed and his fingers in his ears going nananananana.
I am sure that brendo watched a fair amount of football in this country. He probably even watched us seeing we had to play them twice.
and the issue with he said " i give all the players a chance to prove in training" all managers say that and all managers tend to ship out people they dont want quick smart if they can.
grow up!!!

I thought he just looked better than before, he was a very average still, still lacking enough of a goal threat and still had atrocious movement and game intelligence.Originally posted by Tee View PostOnly a fool would fail to see the improvement in Carroll towards the end of last season. He is far to one dimensional and he is not going to ever be a world beater imo.
