what? At times under houllier especially but also under Rafa to a lesser extent we were ****ing dire to watch. That's all. Not a competition of who's the best manager. I didn't watch the game but a point away from home against a team who need to win is a good point. The key was not to lose. The quality of play irrelevant. I've seen us park the bus in Europe and not cross the halfway line. Let's not rewrite stuff eh.

The quality of play is relevant because unfortunately that is exactly how england will play if we make it to the World Cup and face anyone half decent.

We didn't play like that because we were looking for a point, we played like that because that is all we had to offer.
Absolute Gash.
I'm just surprised the players bother at all. I'd rather prolong my club career than play this sub standard ****e.Comment

Must have been a good game. ITV have an hour long highlights programme

I'm not so sure. There is a limited pool of players to pick from compared to the past. The lack of strikers or centre backs is not Roy's fault. He can only play with what is available. Its hardly as though any of the previous managers have had us playing attractive stuff is it? Been **** since hoddle. The quality of play is relevant because unfortunately that is exactly how england will play if we make it to the World Cup and face anyone half decent.

But if Sturridge and Rooney are fit it makes the line up much stronger.
International football is boring, having Roy in charge fits in quite well. Its a good fit with the overall quality of our players.Always borrow money from a pessimist. He wonComment

THE FAI have tonight issued a statement saying they will 'consider the current position' after Ireland's defeat in Vienna.
The statement, released late tonight, is believed to signal the beginning of the end of the reign of manager Giovanni Trapattoni.
It said: "The recent results against Sweden and Austria were very disappointing for everyone involved in Irish football, the manager, the players and supporters."
"The FAI Board of Management will now consider the current position over the coming days."That rug really tied the room together.Comment

Great bit was when Dunphy pulled a figure of the 50k-100k a year salary for Spain's DelBosque as a measure of how Trap has been taking the piss etc etc etc not bothering to watch players etc etc etc, in comparison, purely for the fact that he considers the role a vocation rather than a payday.
Back from the commercial break, Bill pulls him up on the fact that DelBosque is on at least 1.5-2m a year.

****in' deadly, no point in letting facts get in the way of a good oul RTE panel row......magic stuff."I will make the boys feel your support"

IMO 4 wins and 4 draws in this group is a fairly poor return, especially when the two games left are against Poland and Montenegro. Capello would have walked this group. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.Comment
