I don't think Roy is wrong in what he says but it's the fact that it doesn't need to be said. There's no need to create headlines around a 19 year old like this. Resting a young player against ****ing Estonia is not noteworthy in the slightest, a simple 'we have a good squad'/'Lallana deserved a start' or any of the usual reasons given by normal managers would suffice. If he has an issue with us and our players availability, talk to the club, raise it with the FA, don't whinge like a cunt to the press.

You would expect a savvy manager to deal with any issues behind closed door, but when has Hodgson ever shown himself to be such a manager? His career is dotted with examples of him whinging to the media, and of him having bitter little pops at any club where he was shown up to be the mediocre manager that he is.

There is a little proverb that would have served Hodgson well had he deigned to follow it's advice throughout his stunning 40 or so years as a manager.
