    Haha, yep!

    How uninspiring.

Oh and the semi-colon in the thread title?!

In terms of quality I think he's slightly better than Hodgson - which isn't a compliment to Big Sam it just shows how poorly I rate Hodgson.

Essentially very little will change - England will be boring to watch, but will in all likelihood get through the qualifiers relatively comfortably, struggle in the group stage and get knocked out by the first half decent team they face in the knockout stage.

One thing I will miss about Hodgson is the off the pitch entertainment he provided, that was the main reason I watch England games, in all honesty I will probably go back to ignoring them now.

We can write off another tournament before its even began then.

The entire structure needs ripping up, start at the very top and **** the old boys club off.

Yep. Won't happen though will it.

Allardyce will get three years and then it's ripe for Bruce who will handover to Pardew in 2021.

Former Football Association director David Davies believes Sir Alex Ferguson has influenced the appointment of Sam Allardyce as the new England manager, because of his relationship with former Manchester United chief executive David Gill.

I called this the day Hodge stepped down. Given how unappealing the job is, there was never going to be a top class appointment.

This should finally shut him up. Deliver what you have said you could, i.e. intelligent progressive football, now you have the squad to implement it or shut the F up and piss off back to the championship playing thugby football. Win : Win

I actually think it will prove to be a good appointment.

Other than Conte have there been any really top class managers of international sides in the last couple of World Cup cycles?

It's also worth noting that one of the most successful at club level, Fabio Capello, has underachieved pretty consistently in international football.
