I think they were smart enough to not bid for him.

Maybe that explains his performances for us so far?
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

TOTTENHAM have made a shock move to sign Liverpool midfield target Gylfi Sigurdsson.

It appeared that the 22-year-old Iceland international was set to follow his old Swansea City manager Brendan Rodgers to Anfield in an £8million deal.

Now Spurs, who have yet to appoint a successor to sacked manager Harry Redknapp, have spoken to the Hoffenheim player, who has been allowed by the German outfit to select a new club providing the transfer fee is met.

It is believed Spurs have offered a better package and the player, who spent last season on loan at Swansea, is seriously considering it. Sigurdsson was a major influence in Swansea’s impressive showing in their first season in the Premier League.

Rodgers agreed an £8m fee with Hoffenheim to make the Swansea switch permanent.

Then, after succeeding Kenny Dalglish as Liverpool boss, he registered his interest in the Icelander – but only after Sigurdsson had discussed his situation with the new Swansea boss, Michael Laudrup.

And former Denmark international Laudrup has admitted defeat in continuing the transfer to Swansea, revealing that bigger clubs are in the mix.

Spurs are now hoping to hijack the deal Rodgers had in place for Liverpool.

Shock my arse. Spurs a like seagulls.
I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. And I can picture us attacking that world, because they'd never expect it.

no one is going to spurs until they know who the manager is.

any player that signs for a managerless club is a tool IMO. Sounds like BS.

Surely if he wanted to follow Rodgers he would have signed now. He hasn't which I feel he may well sign for another club.
It's a prediction thread on a wish list.

Maybe if he is a massive Manc he genuinely hates us.

I've been all over the nt and forums through boredom trying to get info on Gylfi.

I found out that he left the the end of the week to return home to Iceland to think things thru with his family. I reckon we'll know by Tues/Weds either way.

I can't be arsed writing everything that a read from different team's (alledged - did my best to find out credible ones) sources but it sounds like he is off to Spurs. Thats who I'd be putting money on anyway. However Mr Jenkins and Ben Smith (BBC) still say he's coming here and they are very well linked BUT I don't think they have had a recent update from their sources in the last few days and things may have changed significantly.

If I find out anything else from them I'll post it here. Its good to listen to other teams sources as well as just LFC's.
