Definitely, we're looking worryingly thin in attacking areas. I've been encouraged by Borini, his intelligence and movement impresses me even though he's been lacking in tangible outcome. Think he should come good, this injury is the last thing he needed. Terrible timing.

seeing how the other young lads have stepped up will surely give them more desire and determination to make this chance count.
He is only just older than 20, and considering morgan and yesil are already integrated are you thinking of bringing Jamie Carraghers lad to the first team??

After the massive **** up that was transfer deadline day, we were always going to need some incredible luck to make it through to January unscathed. Luck has been in short supply these past few years, so no surprises that we're down to just 1 recognised striker in the entire squad. Madness

I know another.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I remember reading a quote from Benitez where he said that he believed that Gerrard might become a centre forward towards the end of his career. Not sure whether it would work or not, but it would be interesting to see.Originally posted by Lee View PostSo, Gerrard as a false nine? I'd take that.
Agreed on that. Great player for a mid table side that is set up to bombard the opposition box with crosses and high balls but he possesses neither the technical ability or the footballing intelligence to make it work.Originally posted by clanhuman View PostAndy Carroll would add nothing to the team

yesil, morgan, ngoo, etc will all come in and do as good or better than borini has so far
removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

I've mentioned that a couple of times, but searched everywhere for the quote/article since and could never find it.Originally posted by mattydalton View PostI remember reading a quote from Benitez where he said that he believed that Gerrard might become a centre forward towards the end of his career. Started to wonder if I'd just imagined it as no one else ever seemed to recall. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

At the moment he's not doing quite enough in midfield (imo), but he can score goals as we know. We could play Allen, Sahin and Shelvey or Henderson in midfield and push Gerrard up top. Got to be worth a thought.
