    BUMP!

Languishing on Page 3 , poor old Fabio, no one cares.

How did he get on yesterday. I only saw parts of the game but he didn't seem to stand out much.

Early days I know, but any signs of a player in there?

Didn't see that game but given the general feedback about the game I'd predict everyone saying - 'He was **** but so was everyone else'.

You really couldn't judge him based on the performance last night.

Nope, we never actually gave him the ball enough to do that.

Runs around alot but didn't do much, unless we improve our service up top and from wide areas that's the only thing he'll be doing.

I didn't get to see the Gomel game but great news for fabio to be off the mark, even if it is only an EL qualifier, it's always good to see a new striker confidently score quickly. Nothing more painful than watching one go his first 10-15 games without scoring like crouch did.

Great player, ran the channels well, was available for the ball and had a very good understanding with Suarez, if you think otherwise you are a bhallbag

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Looks to be worth the fee we paid. If he improves as most young players do, he'll turn out to be great value.

He's not got the star quality we really need to compensate for any suspensions/injuries to Suarez or Stevie G, but he had the required intelligence to link well with them.

Thought he did well in the first half and took his goal well.

Obviously you can't judge him on a couple of pre-season games but he looks like he'll be a good player for us. Might need to improve on his decision making but that'll happen with time.

He worked extremely hard and linked up really well. I was pleasantly surprised at his pace - he's quicker than I thought he was. He's certainly not slow anyway.

Good finish from him too. I think he'll score goals for us

Great goal last night, i really hope he goes on from here.. thought he would have made way for Andy later in the match, but he was having a great game.

his link up play with Gerrard and Suarez is brilliant.. he does look deadly in the box which is good, no more crossbars.

There were certainly positives to take from last night; the wide play of Suarez created plenty of space centrally for Borini and he exploited it well. The link up and intricacy between an advanced Gerrard and Suarez was great to watch, they were supported well by the full-backs and as such, we saw more square balls played across the box, which Borini was expecting. There were a few he snatched at, but that was understandable in his competitive debut *and* at Anfield, he looks to buzz around the box and looks to play on his toes. Very promising signs.

I think if we can keep people fit, address the right side of the front three (taking nothing from Downing, but it will take me more than two games to forgive a season) and I think Borini will score well into double figures with the majority being tap-ins.
