And what are Spurs offering that we can't ?? They don't have CL football and they'll not have it next season either, they don't offer higher
wages than us in fact our wage bill is higher than theirs.
I'd be surprised if Arsenal were in for him they have Giroud, Podolski and Chamakh as strikers, IIRC Llorente has 6 months left on his contract when January rolls round, if Rodgers and FSG have any sense they'll make Llorente an exception in regards to their transfer policy of signing players under 24.

I think we'd be in for him if the fee was around £10m, which would be outstanding value for a world class player. That's highly unlikely to happen though.

The problem we have is that clubs now know that we are desperate for a striker so they will expect to deal with the individual who sanctioned the Carrol deal for 35m, hoping we use the same stupid value parameters again.

Llorente is still at Bilbao because any potential buyers would have been asked to pay around 30 million for him, Bilbao are no fools in the transfer market, they got 40m euro for Martinez.

Llorente's contract runs out next summer and he'll probably be available for around 10 million this January, we'd be crazy not to be in for him.
