Not only that. He was a good passer, but people tended to focus on his mistakes rather than the numerous runs he made forward contributing to goals also.
The term "mobile" flys over a lot of peoples heads. If only they would think about it. If you lack mobility then your most likely in a ****ing wheelchair.

Perhaps the function of the wheel has flew over your head.
Allen is doing the best that he can in a role that he doesn't specialise in. Allen & Lucas together we be rock solid, until then Allen is doing his best to be the buffer infront of the back line. Still blatantly obvious without an out an out DM how open we are in games. Anyways Allen was a cracking signing and i'm sure we'll see even more from him once Lucas is fit and Allen can play his natural game.
Bit of a dip in form for the lad. Today he was tentative in possession, sloppy in his passing and he also lacked the aggression that was present at the start of the season. Probably not popular but I think he needs dropping for the Wigan game so that he can focus his mind again. A 4-3-3 with a midfield of Suso, Gerrard and Shelvey is strong enough for that one.
He was poor but I think he wasn't helped by Sahin in midfield - he often had very few options. Gerrard was a little better but that trio looked unbalanced when they were together.
