His early form was actually very good for us, has a lot to prove though next season so needs to come back from the injuries and get a good pre-season in for us

He never had a pre-season with the squad before his arrival because of the Olympics, but still looked the business early on.

It's strange because at Swansea, he was like a box-to-box midfielder (apologies for the FM term). He bombed forward but also held his position. Even Rodgers said during the season that Allen hasn't played in that role, and he'd offer 10-20% extra to the team if he did.

I'm really looking forward to seeing it move up a notch next season. I hope he doesn't play Borini on the flanks again though. My eyes bleed with pus when that happens.

I think he is a good player. I liked him at Swansea and he was very good in his first couple of months here. He played non-stop and played through the summer too like you say. Hopefully the rest will do him good. I also agree on Borini. He should be played through the middle and rotated with Sturridge. That's his natural position

Suppose its like starting a player in the CL final with little game time in months and them breaking down 20 minutes into the game! managers make bad calls with regards injuries sometimes, it happens!
He shouldn't have started Allen IMO but he did, we lost the game, do I think it's going to a factor in his job security, nope and do I think Henderson will be off this summer, nope.

Its a squad game and Henderson has played a number of games this season and has come on leaps and bounds for us, IMO he'll see this season as a step forward for him.

It is also plain stupid telling everyone out there that Allen have a big shoulder problem before the games and then play him.

The opposition will then of course taget him and tackle him and try to make the injury worse.

I wouldn't say that it is a sackable offense but it is very close.

He played a weakend team and risked the health of the player.

That is over the top. I don't blame Rodgers for this I think that he had to rely on the club doctors and medical experts views, if they have said that he is fit to play then Rodgers is going to believe them, the only problem for me would be if the medical staff have said he is unfit to play and Rodgers has continued playing him.

What I would blame Rodgers for is picking a player who has clearly been playing poorly when there are better options available. I also think that he should either have kept his mouth shut about the injury or put Allen in for the operation as soon as it became public, continuing to play him doesn't make sense to me.

You do wonder what the **** Rodgers was thinking when he played him against Southampton instead of a fully fit Henderson.

Allen should have had the operation months ago.

You also wonder what FSG must be thinking when the manager played an injured player instead of a fully fit one.

The above is one reason to why I believe that Rodgers isn't safe.

Because I can't see Henderson playing the holding role.
