very odd to say the least.

Thought his capture was a bit of a coup but it hasn't worked out. Still I'm pleased that we were decisive in getting rid, no point holding on to a player on big wages who is not contributing.

I wonder if Dortmund are paying a loan fee? If I recall we were rumoured to have paid over 2 million, do we get a refund from Dortmund? Madrid may recoup what they paid in loan fees alone.

Maybe, just maybe, he wasn't that good. The fact that we got him on loan rather than full time before deciding we didn't want him is the opposite of the sort of expensive mistakes that have hit our finances also hard.

Played **** all ball for the last year following injury. He was fit and raring to go when he came to us. Brendan saw him every day, so would have had far better insight into how he was settling, training, relating to others etc etc, so he's the man qualified to determine whether or not we should continue with him.
Looking from the outside, he didn't do much with his opportunity so he's not going to be a loss. Maybe he was played out of position, maybe he just couldn't cut it.............only thing we know for certain is that a manager isn't going to cut his nose off to spite his face while he's trying to start something here, so best just to move on.

Good decisive move by Rodgers. It isn't working out, so off you go. Impressive.

If thats the case then we could add in another area although I would love to see a bit of muscle added to the CM position.
                We could bring back Spearing

                  diame.

we're a man down and he's available for 3.5m. big physical presence in midfield and can play a bit too.

                  be good if it happened.

Far too good a deal for us to even consider it.

As for Sahin, I'm not ashamed to repeat how gutting this news is. He was a world class footballer prior to his injury (a long term one remember), and he's proven he can play in a high tempo team full of pressing. It looks like Dortmund have got him on a permanent deal for 15million euros. Fair play to them. Some may argue he was a luxury player, but he's a top player, and we're lacking in them.

he doesnt look suited to the premiership despite his technical ability.

hes not a player you can fit into a team - he has to have the team built around him. At liverpool and with gerrard now looking to do a similar role its not going to happen for him.

Very Rafa-esque from Rogers, giving players the chop as clearly he doesn't see them as fit for purpose (Keane, Kromkamp etc suffered similar endings)

oh well, he's not exactly done much in his time with us.

I hope we see a couple of players being brought in though
