Yep, Rodgers has talked about "the paper thin group" and we've reduced it further.

We still have 6 mids in our squad.

The more I think about this the more I get annoyed. Why did we get him in, on a pricey loan deal. **** him about and play him here and there. Then bomb him out at the first chance we get.

I put the blame for this squarely on Rodgers. His signing, his mistake.

It was a gamble from day 1 as nobody knew if he was going to be suitable for PL.


I do feel that he deserved more playing time but imo he wasn't going to make it anyway.

I don't think he was given a fair crack, he was played out of position for all of his spell. Other players in his preferred role were playing very poorly yet he still didn't get a chance.

Doesn't make any sense why we loaned him? if Rodgers was after an attacking midfielder and thought Sahin was the answer then he's an idiot.

Did he show enough though to be played in that position, you'd imagine if he'd done well enough in training he'd have been given a go.

We've done the right thing by cutting him lose if he wasn't going to be used.

Played **** all ball for the last year following injury. He was fit and raring to go when he came to us. Brendan saw him every day, so would have had far better insight into how he was settling, training, relating to others etc etc, so he's the man qualified to determine whether or not we should continue with him.
Looking from the outside, he didn't do much with his opportunity so he's not going to be a loss. Maybe he was played out of position, maybe he just couldn't cut it.............only thing we know for certain is that a manager isn't going to cut his nose off to spite his face while he's trying to start something here, so best just to move on.

I actually wonder if he'd been brought in to replace Henderson who were looking to move on with Dempsey coming in, obviously Henderson has started to show his worth and therefore the need for him has become less.
