I would guess it would be another loan if anything but it depends if Rodgers thinks we can get away with Lucas, Gerrard, Henderson, Shelvey and Allen for the rest of the season. Suso could maybe play centrally or drop Suarez in behind the striker?

If thats the case then we could add in another area although I would love to see a bit of muscle added to the CM position.

Bye bye Nuri, thanks for the memories.

      Assaidi next out?

No-one left from the Chang era then.

Sturridge was an excellent start, hopefully it doesn't end badly.
we need more players coming in now, I'd forgotten about Cole (easy mistake) but we need depth in strength especially coming into the back end of the season where no doubt we'll see injuries crop up.

I put the blame for this squarely on Rodgers. His signing, his mistake.
I dunno about this, was it entirely his signing and tbh we don't know if he's been doing enough in training to deserve a spot in the side/squad, from what I've seen in terms of players such as Henderson, Enrique and Downing if you're doing enough you'll get your chance.

Agreed with the muscle type coming into the midfield.

I wouldn't be surprised if we are paying part of his wages for the rest of the year to get him off the books; it's The Liverpool Way.

                Snap.

This was an expensive **** up from day one and not one that can be pinned on anyone outside the current hierarchy.

Signing him - a class, Champion's League player - in our current situation was a blessing and we'd have seen huge benefits if we had PLAYED HIM IN HIS PROPER POSITION.

What a massive ****ing cockup. So disappointed and pissed off.

Yep, if we don't sign replacements for Joe Cole and Sahin, we'll be left with a thinner squad. I think Tom Ince is the one pencilled in to replaced Cole but Sahin, I'm not so sure.
                  Are we winning?

As you say - every time talk is of strengthening the squad and adding players to the squad we seem to let players go. Odd

'champions league player' - that's a new category of player there. Presumably it means little more than having been at a club in the CL, which covers all sorts of players, good and not very good.

Maybe, just maybe, he wasn't that good. The fact that we got him on loan rather than full time before deciding we didn't want him is the opposite of the sort of expensive mistakes that have hit our finances also hard.

he's got the reputation as being a top player but maybe he just couldn't cut it here, it does happen.

Good point - we could have bought him and lost a fortune on him

I don't think we played him in his best position in enough games - that said he didn't look strong enough to play in a deep position for us.

                              Anyway, we move on.

Nuri Sahin's stay at #LFC is over. Paperwork on his return to Dortmund should be completed in the next couple of hours.

Pity but probably most sensible for all parties we better be replacing him though as our paper thin squad is getting thinner
