It's just a speculative shot. He might have been playing **** throughout the match.

Signed a permanent deal with Dortmund.

After clinching a deal to sign Adrian Ramos, Borussia Dortmund have continued their activity in the transfer market by agreeing to make midfielder Nuri Sahin's loan move from Real Madrid CF a permanent transfer.Sahin agreed an 18-month loan to the Schwarz-Gelben when he returned to Dortmund in January 2013, but will officially become a BVB player again this summer, the club confirmed on Thursday evening.
                Done deal

"We met with Real Madrid officials when the two clubs played in the Champions League quarter-finals recently, and we have made it clear to them that we intend to make use of the option to buy," said Borussia CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke to local newspaper Ruhr Nachrichten. No further details concerning the transfer have been disclosed.

After breaking into the BVB team as a teenager, Sahin helped Dortmund to the league title in 2010/11, before leaving for the Spanish capital that summer. He struggled for playing time with Los Merengues, however, and was loaned back to Dortmund at the beginning of 2013 having spent the previous six months at English Premier League side Liverpool FC.

He has been an ever-present in Jürgen Klopp's team this season, playing in every one of the club's 29 league games so far, scoring twice and providing three assists.

I wonder how Sahin would have settled into our current team and systems of play?

I don't think he was mobile enough to play in our midfield. He's hardly set the world alight back at Dortmund. He seems to mostly be a substitute.

From the post two above yours

26 starts and 3 subs in the league. Though they've obviously had injuries so I dunno if he'd be starting if they had a full complement.

I think it's a shame it didn't work out here as he's obviously a class player, but we're doing alright without him.

I'd almost forgotten he was with us, fwiw I think he'd work in the current set up and would have been handy squad depth

I wonder if he'd play in Gerrard's place or left of Henderson.

Was a very odd affair and if we were after Reus, he'd tell him to give us/Rodgers a swerve

Wasn't the story about him that he wasnt willing to adapt his game for Rodgers?
If so, he'd have been useless to us given the way Rodgers likes to adjust our shape.
Would also explain why he made his mind up about him so quickly.

He normally plays as a deep lying DM and Rodgers wanted him as a number 10 There is adapting your game and then theres that.

Hardly unreasonable Plenty of players have changed positions before.
You'd think someone who hadn't played the previous year would take the chance.
