Say he signed for someone after a year on £80k for £6m, using those figures above we'd pay £6.5m in wages (easily got this free now), and we'd pay him £7m compo at full whack. There's a much lower financial risk in reality.

Moving on is reliant on him wanting to go though. As we can see he is not going to take the first offer that comes along.

To put it into perspective Suarez was a £40m commitment at the time for the fee & contract.

Seen loads of people comparing him to signing Joe Cole

A half good Wes is better than Cole

            I don't think anyone's comparing their ability.

We'd never get him on anywhere near 80k a week though, it'd be well over 100k. 80 at Gala would give him a hugely different wage after tax than 80 would here.

If they were his demands he'd have the whole of Europe after him.

Read the post i'm quoting from Mostar then read mine again - you've got the wrong end of the stick. I'm saying we could pay him £125k p/w, and if it went tits up, we had to sell him after a year and his next club would only be willing to stump up £80k p/w, then we'd only have to pay him off £7m (the remaining 3 years of his contract * the difference in wages).

I can't see the worst case scenario costing us any more than that. On the flip side he's more likely to do very well and would be worth every penny.

If we can get him on reasonable wages yes. Not if he wants anything over 100k though.
