if we can offload borini then we could use that money to finance a move for eriksen.Originally posted by Gibbo View PostEriksen was always going to be a luxury signing for us.
We need more players that are going to do a utility job for us I reckon, think Papadopalous will be our big signing this summer.
A top team can never have enough creative talents especially players in the mould of coutinho and eriksen. both like to occupy the same space but good players can figure things out and could play together as long as the midfield was set up correctly to balance the rest of the team.[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]

9m or 11m euros - that is some deal for a player as good as Eriksen. If this was a possibility and we didn't go for it just because we had Coutinho, then I will be gutted to be honest. Especially when you consider how much we spent on Henderson, Downing, Joe Allen, Borini just to name a few.....

Thing is, I don't think he has impressed the scouts of late. There was huge interest in him from us but I think he's been off the boil for a couple of months. It's understandable given that his mind is probably elsewhere now. But, Coutinho is brilliant in that central role, we have Henderson and Allen too. If we can't move one of Henderson/Allen then there is no point signing Eriksen, regardless of how good he is.
Personally, would be loathe to sell Henderson, and Allen will also come good in my view. Would rather we strengthened the defence/GK positions and then signed an upgrade on Downing

I really don't think it's that big a loss, eriksen is in real danger of being over rated imo, he is a great playmaker but isn't a flair type and I wouldn't say he is a proven goal scoring midfielder either, not yet. I actually think Kevin de bruyne would be a better fit at Dortmund.
We need to spend money elsewhere and I genuinely believe countinho has more to his all round game than eriksen. I think the latter is so hyped because he has already been around so long but tbh if he was available at the quoted price where are all the other big boys who wanted him at 18?
Eriksen is a good player, a great passer who has the potential to be an excellent attacking mid but he still goes missing in games, I.e at euro 2012 for Denmark.Last edited by Corndog; 28-05-13, 08:47 AM.Y.N.W.A!!!!!!

Eriksen: Dortmund, Liverpool or so

The Danish national team star does cheer in addition to being one of the most talked about names in the transfer market and he has a clear idea of what he wants and what he will not.
It must be a club that batter of something if it wants Christian Eriksen's signature on a contract this summer and get him away from Ajax Amsterdam.
And in that respect, Champions League finalists from Dortmund - as the rumor level has been the most likely destination for Eriksen in the past - the greatness that is required to invoke the 21-year-old Dane interest:
- I also said before: Dortmund is one of the options that will be really good for me. But it is not the only option, says Christian Eriksen Wednesday to the national team's first training session ahead of the test match against Georgia and World Cup qualifier match against Armenia.
And he stresses that it's clubs of the caliber, he will find interesting:
- Yes, at that level - or thereabouts. I have also expressed. If you see something exciting up so I want away, says Eriksen.
He knows that there is interest, he says, but otherwise he knows nothing, and there is nothing concrete according to him. He amuses himself, however, of all the stories about him that he seems 'are funnier'.
It's not just the media who wonder in Christian Eriksen's future, for his national team colleague Daniel Agger who is not with the national team this time because of an injury, has also contributed to the history of Christian Eriksen's choice of future club.
Agger was out and talk hot for Eriksen to Liverpool and it has Eriksen also noted:
- I have read and Liverpool is definitely an option. It is also one of the clubs, you'll weights higher than Amsterdam, and it's a different league and a different caliber. It sounds very exciting, but we have to look at it if there is something I do not know if there is anything specific, and I've even talked to Daniel about it.
Christian Eriksen and his national team colleagues play test match against Georgia in Aalborg on 5 June and World Cup qualifier against Armenia in Parken, Copenhagen on 11 June.

I've only heard the price difference quoted in Danish kroner, so thought I'd rather make it to pounds than euros :P
