The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

...Scott Sinclair would have already fallen down all by himself

I got a bit of an insight into Sports Betting and basically Sports Traders. They have 3 trading screens, 2 with the usual tick charts monitoring betting trends, latest odds etc and the third screen has a screen where they games, news etc. Now what the traders do is if they notice a sudden spike in bets on something, they suspend betting - hardly mathematical. And another example, lets say if a team gets a penalty, they will suspend bets for things such as the next team/player to score as it's pretty certain that they will score - they will have the match on that magic third screen . I guess similar things do happen in the stock market

I guess that's sarcasm? Well I hope it is! You'd think they would have more sophisticated methods but then I guess in game betting can only be done manually as computers can't interpret games live.

Were we ever interested in Erikson. Once a wide player is purchased than Coutinho plays through the middle and would Erikson be a better option than Coutinho?

he might be a better option than gerrard if we play one holding and two advanced. this lad could easily go on to be our gerrard replacement, and we should be getting him signed up while he is available.

                        CHRISTIAN ERIKSEN
                        PROFILE
A fine young midfield prospect, Eriksen learnt his trade with Ajax and has been tipped for greatness with the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal and Barcelona monitoring his progress.

Eriksen began his development in the game when he switched to Odense Boldklub in 2005. There he won the Danish youth championships before deciding to join Dutch club Ajax in 2008. The famed academy in Amsterdam ensured that his talent would not be wasted and he was soon promoted to the first-team where he starred.

Running the game as a traditional No. 10, he slotted easily into the Ajax set-up and his breakthrough season came in 2010-11. Impressing all with his calm composure on the ball, scoring the occasional goal and setting up plenty of others, many have tipped him to emerge as a star of the Danish national side for many years to come after he was the youngest player of the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

Strengths: Comfortable on the ball and has a great range of passing.

Weaknesses: Because of his size, he can be knocked off the ball and tends to drift in and out of games occasionally.

Career high: Winning the Dutch title in 2010-11 for the first time. He was named Dutch Football Talent of the Year, as well as Danish Football Player of the Year.

Career low: Coming on as a sub in Denmark's 3-1 defeat to Japan at the World Cup that saw them crash out.

Style: Creative, tricky, balanced, a visionary midfielder.

Quotes: "He's a player I really like with all my heart. This prize [Dutch Football Talent of the Year] is just the beginning, a stimulus to get the maximum out of his career. The talent is there, the recognition also; now it is up to the player himself. He is a typical product of the Danish school. You can compare him with Brian and Michael Laudrup. Only time will tell if Eriksen can reach the same level as them." Johan Cruyff on Eriksen in 2010.

Not entirely seeing the point. Dortmund looked at him, passed on him. It was widely reported we heavily scouted him, then passed on him. He's been making eyes at every half-decent side in Europe this summer and is available for a reasonable price, but no one's bit. I rate him, to be honest, but that's a red flag and even regardless of that fact, I can pretty easily accept that for whatever reason, Rodgers and our scouts decided against him.

If he's not a big goal threat (like Mkhitaryan is supposed to be) then he's just not the sort of player we need as a priority. Coutinho will occupy the central creative role well. I have to say I'm surprised that Eriksen hasn't moved on. But then van der Vaart and Sneijder lasted longer than I thought they would in Holland.

We were in for him in the hopes Spurs would bite and sign him
