I thought it was funny a few years ago when Brazil was going on about depression. He had some rat journo on (can't remember his name but i know he had previously got done for gbh) and they were going on about some cricketer that Irani knew that had come out with depression....

Brazil, obviously dying with a hangover, had a view along the lines of: "suck it up and ge tout to work......depression is a load of bollocks"

Irani was pure odd with him - he was obviously disgusted with the whole thing but then all of a sudden it cut to adds and Brazil was replaced when they came back.....

How he didn't get the bullet then i'll never know

        Oh, The Birdman.

        .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

          From a while ago

IPSWICH: A media regulator has received complaints after a football pundit claimed that people with depression should “just get on with it”.

Yesterday, the Evening Star reported that former Ipswich Town striker Alan Brazil had been criticised by Suffolk Mental Health for being “insensitive”.

On Friday morning’s breakfast show on talkSPORT radio, Brazil said that he doubted whether depression was an illness.

The comments were made during a discussion over Michael Yardy’s decision to withdraw from the cricket World Cup due to depression.

Today, media regulators Ofcom confirmed that they had received 14 complaints relating to comments made by Alan Brazil and sports journalist Rob Shepherd, who claimed that sportsmen were using “the depression word far too cheaply”.

A spokesman for Ofcom said: “We are investigating these complaints.”

During the broadcast, Brazil said: “If I’m being honest, I don’t understand the illness of depression.”

He adds: “I’m old school and I’m not arguing with a
professor and I’m not arguing with Michael Yardy, but sometimes in life you roll your sleeves up.”

A spokeswoman for talkSPORT said that Brazil’s comments were not reflected by the station as a whole.

Bring back Mike Parry, the seeker of truth & justice. A bitter as well but fun to listen to.

A good old hack who told some great stories, made me smile anyway

...the most succinct post of the whole thread.

Alvin Martin and Micky Quinn are decent but even the half-arsed news readers are ****wits too - 'the moose' and Andrew McKenna are absolute muppets. I've heard farts make more sense..

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

After reading this thread I feel devastated we can't get the station in Ireland.

I agree on Mick Quinn - he can be okay and is pretty funny.....

In general though, it's fockin toilet - like 'the s*n' of radio.......

Also, it pisses me off when I hear 'Liverpool fans' on the station, ringing up not having a ****in clue, with their ****in cockney accents saying things like "Kenny was great but signing the likes of Joe Cole was never going to work out",

Was it Parry who called Rafa a nonce?

I remember once seeing a clip of Parry eating a tablespoon full of cinnamon for some reason.
