I love his attitude so much, he's more of a leader and an inspiration than almost any player in our squad IMO. I wish he was a few years younger, he'd start every game.

There's always a risk of a clanger with him, but then our other options are even more of a liability, so for me he starts against Chelsea. He showed good pace a few times too, something Lovren is severely lacking in!

Tough one. He was at fault yes, but it was a bit of brilliance by Marcelo to be fair.

Remember at the start of last season? He was MOTM nearly every game. I loved watching him play. He was a brilliant team player. Always motivating the rest of the team and keeping them going. Helping to organise the defence too.

I was led to believe Lovren was brought in to do that, but he hasn't. He's totally failed in that aspect.

Do we not think it was more that Manquillo was 'out of position'? Albeit I suspect Rodgers game plan was for him/full backs to push up when possible anyway.

Toure takes gambles on the ball, he looks likely to **** up at any given moment, but on last nights performance alone he deserves to keep the shirt for the weekend.

He's past his best. Our best partnership last season was Agger & Toure at the start of the season. And despite playing so well last night, his best position is RCB. I would've liked to have seen Toure & Sakho last season to see if Skrtel was the issue. But Martin was playing well as an individual so it would have been harsh.

More I see LFC play, the more I think that Skrtel is the issue.

He's the common factor in our defensive woes IMO.

Skrtel needs someone to marshal him in defence without that he's a bloody liability so the combination of him and based on appearances so far Lovren it's not going to get any better.

If fit I'd be looking to play Toure and Sakho

Skrtel is a funny one because on many occasions he's very impressive. He's our most dominant defender in the air and wins lots of headers. He also makes some good blocks, tackles etc. I'd imagine in a YouTube comp he'd look pretty ace. But the more you watch him the more you see he makes too many mistakes and makes the players around him nervous.

If we could find a pairing that works out of this motley crew and stick with it, it could really help turn our season around.
