When a defender is player of the month it's not promising. Not when you've played the standard of teams we have. I remember the season Lucas was player of the year. He played very well, but when a defensive player is the stand out man, it's not gone too well.

Player of the month and was rewarded by being dropped when we play a back 3 consisting of a recalled Lovren and Johnson.

Says everything about Rodgers, players in form get dropped in favour of the managers untouchables, if Toure couldn't keep his place ahead of Lovren after the respective form of both players then what message and incentive does that send to the rest of the squad?

I'd say Can is the most likely to benefit from that if as expected he plays right side of the back 3 again today. Much preferable to Lovren getting played anyway!

Awful, awful player. Terrible. He was here for short term cover and instilling confidence when called upon but does the polar opposite nearly every game he plays. Makes Lovren look a decent defender.
