You keep saying that, but Brendan clearly thought he was. Rodgers wants to add around 25 more goals and Mkhitaryan scored that amount himself last season. We need to add more goals from midfield, he was capable of providing them. We were prepared to spend £25m on him - which more than suggests the club felt he was 'essential to the squad'.

Ok fair enough, but it's not as though the squad currently lacks sources of goals. Suarez may go but I'm sure we'll sort things out. I have a problem with this, we need a reality check, yes we have a famous name but at the end of the day we've finished 8th and 7th in the league the last two seasons, we don't have champions league football to offer, we don't even have one of the biggest stadiums in the league now it's only about 6th biggest now, other than a trophy cabinet to look at we have to accept thy we are not challengers anymore and it may take several years to get back to being challengers as we need to expand the stadium and desperately need financial fair play to be able to compete at the top end of the transfer market.

So, unfortunately, if you look at a club like Dortmund it's more likely players will be saying who are Liverpool.
