don't hate the player, hate the game. In reality he is a professional. And although this signifies the end of his sporting career from a winning trophies point of view, if someone offers you the chance to earn £25m for 3 years "work" then it's a no-brainer for the lad.....
I expect they will just hoover up a load of players at the end of the transfer window who aren't fixed up with a new club yet - people like Coutinho, Aubameyang etc

I'd be surprised.Originally posted by Norbs View PostThat's only £180k a week, he must've been on or near that at times during his career
Spurs don't pay big wages (unless you're Harry Kane) and i'd be surprised if he was on anything more than 90k a week at Atletico.
I'd say he's at least doubled his money with the move.
edit no idea how accurate this is - https://salarysport.com/football/la-liga/atl%C3%A9tico/

You think they will get promoted back up in second place next year?Originally posted by frank the tank View Postdon't hate the player, hate the game. In reality he is a professional. they protest a bit too much.
"Kieran hasn't come for the financial benefits of the contract. He's come for the club and for the challenge that the team faces at the current time, but also the longer-term vision, so I think that's a massive thing for the football club."
Trippier said: "If people say it's about money, then everybody's entitled to their own opinion, but I know my reasons why and that's not one of them."Modifying post.

Huh, I had him all wrong.
They both said it wasnt about the money, so it definitely must not be about the money.
Athletico Madrid, challenging for titles, still in the CL to Newcastle and avoiding relegation
