Time for Rafa to put his feet up & enjoy his retirement - hate seeing him getting treated like this even though it is self inflicted

In reality Howe hasn't exactly been brilliant for them so I actually wouldn't be surprised to see Benitez approached.
It might all depend on how his contract with Everton was set up. If he got his payday and there is no clause stating that he can't work for anyone for the rest of the season, then he isn't going to pay that back.
However, if he gets his cash from Everton and gets to start tomorrow in Newcastle, then I wouldn't be hugely surprised to see it happen. Particularly since Howe couldn't even get a win at home against ****e like Watford, Norwich or Man United.
Best scenario for us all here is that Rafa takes over at Newcastle, heads a resurgence with their team turning everything around and finding form and they then ramp up the table with Everton being sucked into the bottom and being relegated!!! How feckin brilliant would that be - they end up paying millions in compo to the guy that saved their rival and sent them down!!!

And they are not getting elite players - there us still a risk with the guys they are buying. I hope they go down because if they stay up they’ll lash money at it in the summer

They're shopping below elite level, just like City did in the first couple of years.Originally posted by Irishnev View Post

Unlike most clubs burdened with higher wages in a lower league, they don't have to consider their spending levels at allOriginally posted by Irishnev View Post

You have only got to look at Everton to see that spending huge amounts of money does not necessarily mean the quality of the team will improve.Originally posted by Sus View PostNewcastle have spent 80m quid this window so far! That's blown my mind since I feel like they've just added Chris Wood and Dan Burn. Forgot about that Lyon midfielder but they don't seem significantly stronger for that level of spend
