To be honest I never get that impression from them. The TAW lads all seem just as supportive of Rodgers et al. as the rest of us. They talk sense most of the time too. I know that's an unpopular viewpoint in some circles.

    Anyway went off topic. Sorry.

I'd cream my pants but can't see it.

After losing out to Willian I think it would count against us in any other head to head attempts to buy players against Spurs.

There are not that many potential marquee signings available out there at the minute.

      Everyone is scrapping over them.

Nice and simple then. At least Ian Ayre must have got home for the 6 o'clock news so its all good.

£30m was plenty enough, probably too much already.

i'd say that he thinks someone/something else is to blame rather than Willian 'prefers' london to liverpool - ie, if he was prepared to commute so far over in russia, then if he wanted he could commute here.

personally i am getting a little pissed off with some people constantly looking to blame people for missing out on a few high profile players.

i believe it's agenda driven and some want to blame FSG/Rodgers/Ayre.

Probably for no other reason than they are the types of supporters who think because they complain and moan all the time that it means more to them than those who don't. Though it could be trying to make a name for themselves in the 'LFC twitterati' or they feel bitter because the fans should own the club

sometimes though there is no one to blame - if players don't want to come here for whatever reason then so be it - they might not like our kit, they might have a girlfriend in london we don't know about - for all we know Willian for example may think lucas is a bit of a cunt but is good mates with Sandro.

BTW that's not specifically aimed at anyone on here, more a general observation across a number of platforms and generally it's the 'known superfan' that seem to have that agenda -

Its hard not to feel massivley deflated by this for two reasons:-

                      1. We need another attacking player from the "top drawer" so to speak - someone who, like Sturridge, Coutinho and Suarez, can singlehandedly win a tight game. Especially one who operates from a wide area as we don't seem to have that at the moment. I don't know if Willian is that player but the fact we were willing to go to E30m suggests we thought he was.

aus to another player. Its not as if they are in the Champions League or have been often. I dont understand their appeal - won nothing, average ground, so so fans. As a club they are completely meh.

Perhaps we could start a free shuttle helicopter service to get our players to and fro London easily.

When we were linked with him last week I said £30m was too much whereas a few were saying we shouldn't be bothered about the fee so long as we get our man. I am pleased we didn't up our bid. It's far too much. I still think there are better players out there who we could get cheaper.

our signings shouldn't be made out of desperation

On the Anzhi commuting thing, their whole squad was based in Moscow and commuted together to Dagestan for their home matches. They trained in Moscow. It was the set-up the club wanted, no doubt because living in Moscow is a lot more attractive to players from around the world than living somewhere that has recently had major issues with security and serious civil unrest.

In other words, it's entirely misleading to claim that the commuting thing there calls into question the possibility location could be a significant issue here.

                              As you say, probably agenda-driven.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
