Thankfully we're further ahead in the evolutionary process now.
With the exception that they've bought some quality & we bought Carroll & Downing for £60 odd million

Couldn't agree more. The positives are we clearly have a wedge of cash available to spend with time still remaining this transfer window. If those scouts from Man City are as good as they are supposed to be, we'll be bringing in more quality players like Coutinho, Sturridge who offer real value.

Let Spurs spunk their Giro...we'll still finish above them once AVB has been sacked by Christmas.

That's defiant but the reality is class players tend to gel quickly and pretty well. We will see, but AVB is no mug and I think they should do very well now. 4th spot just got a lot harder.

To be fair i would rather take a punt of Soldado who has averaged 20 goals per season for last 3 or 4 years & has 1 in 2 goal ratio for Spain.... than a 6ft 3 inch Geordie who had a decent 6 months.

And well let's not even talk about Downing

                definitely

Love getting chastised by certain posters just for admitting that Spurs have a very good side.

Those players are not even comparable. We bought a pile of steaming ****e and the smell still hasn't quite gone away.

Now the focus has turned to Anzhi Makhachkala winger Willian with the Reds willing to pay up to £30million to make the deal happen.

Strange that the echo reported that we were willing to pay up to £30m but Barrett is saying that we refused to match Spurs offer of £30m.

We refused to match Spurs' wages is what I heard.

Either way, he's not worth 30m + the wages he asked for. Over the course of the season you'll get you see that Coutinho is much better than him.

That clearly maybe the case, but Coutinho needs that kind of quality around him, BR said so himself. We have some great players, we just need a few more to genuinely expect to challenge for fourth.

By not getting these level of players we are giving BR a pass for the season and really letting down players like Gerrard, Agger and Lucas. There is still time though, so lets see what happens.

Argie, young and gifted, and this guy is actually worth raving about. IMO not a chance in us getting him
