That's really sad though, in my view...would love there to be toom for different styles in the PL, though I guess this is super challenging given the financial inequalities

But still, would take a Biesla team in the PL over a Dyche Burnley any day of the week

      They did fine last season.

Theyve had awful injuries all season to the spine, plus the small squad he runs has made things even tougher.

Will be interesting to see who they bring in. Hopefully not recycling another of the relegation fodder roulette gang.

That’s the main problem. You can’t get away with it in the PL, there are too many games at too high an intensity level. Every season will be a massive gamble.

Missing their centre forward and their DM for most of the season is probably the difference between midtable and where they are now. It's a very thin squad they have.

They conceded 14 goals last week.

City have conceded 17 all season and us 20.

They did. To 3 of the top 4.

Their results against the rest of the league were far more marginal.

I didn't say that Bamford and Phillips turns them into a City or Liverpool

                      Not sure it is.

What exactly is there from his 32 years of managing teams that shows he is suited to managing a domestic club for a prolonged period of time at the top level?

This spell at Leeds was the longest he stayed at any club.

Don't go all strawman here Jaco. The length of time he's spent at clubs is irrelevant with regards to Kenneth's original statement.

As you said he's spent 32 years managing professional football teams. That's more than enough to suggest that he was cut out to be a top flight football manager.

Not sure there really is evidence of that. He’s won **** all in all of those years. Not sure I’d describe many of his clubs as ‘top level’, but the ones that might be argued had him for a year, max two. His tactics aren’t successful. The guy is a charlatan.

And again, his heralded approach of a small and close knit squad is not suitable for a premier league club.

Kenneth, go on and argue with yourself.

Bielsa is heralded by Guardiola and numerous other top rate coaches as being one of the best and forward thinking coaches that has ever existed. He’s created a template for a lot managers to try and emulate, so it’s irrelevant he hasn’t “won” anything in a top league. Sometimes you don’t have to win things to be a trailblazer admired by others. Also, he’s a fantastic human being, modest and humble according to a lot of people.

He’s done great last year and this year Leeds have suffered from injuries, Covid etc and lost their spine.

I can still vividly remember a few ****s in here calling for Klopp’s head when we were struggling in the league so it’s nothing new the stick Bielsa gets.
                            Are we winning?

He won the championship with Leeds, that was a massive achievment for a club that had been out in the wilderness for 16 years.

Its great that a manager has a "philosophy" but they also need to be adaptable and adjust their preferred system to suit the resources and players available to them.
Too stubborn to adapt makes you look foolish.
