It is. My father in law is trying to persuade me to go St Petersburg to watch a match or two. We'll be in Finland at the time so it's just a train ride but there is zero ****ing chance that I'm going to go.

He just doesn't get it. "The people will be pleased that people from all over the world are visiting Russia" and "there will be lots of police so I'm sure it will be fine". I don't know what's happened to the Finns since they handed Russia their arse on a plate in the winter wars, but they're a bunch of 'people are fundamentally good' scando hippies these days.

Their nutters will be pleased that people are coming to them because they'll be able to attack them much more cheaply and in much greater numbers. And if (when) it does kick off the last people you'd want to ask for help from would be the Russian police.
