The Spanish FA are calling for their own expulsion in order to prevent him leaving WTF??
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

It just depressingly shows why so few women are believed when they make allegations of sexual impropriety by men. The footage is there for all to see but so many insist she must by lying or it was a trap to get him fired. Ridiculous.

FWIW how does everyone feel about that horse owner that planted a big unsolicited smooch on the jockeys lips over the weekend whilst celebrating a win??

I don’t think it matters too much how we feel about it. But if the recipient of the kiss was not up for it then it’s clearly a problem. Surely if Rubiales had apologised straight away this story doesn’t continue. He just keeps on doubling down.

I just find it interesting that nothing has really been said about it. All feels a bit one way traffic to me. Respect is respect after all. Needs to work both ways to be effective. Looking at both sets of footage, neither recipient acts outraged, pulls away or tells the other party to not do that, if thats any indication of being "up for it"

Also, did he not come out after people on social media started frothing at the mouth and say something along the lines of that he got caught up in the moment/celebrations and apologises to anyone that was offended? The doubling down has come from both sides to be honest. People wanting him castrated despite his somewhat weak apology and then him digging in for battle

No, people want him to resign because what he did falls under sexual assault.

He kissed a woman on the mouth, the woman has said it was not consensual.

He came out and said she is wrong and that she really thought it was consensual, the organisation he works for threatened Jennifer Hermoso with legal action if she continued to say it was not consensual, they threatened to sue other people who said it on her behalf.

If he had have a brain he could have said he did it in the heat of the moment but soon after realised it was wrong and offered apologies to her in person and publically said what he did was wrong because well it is ****ing wrong to be initmate with someone when it is not consensual or when there is any doubt that a spur of the moment gesture would be inappropriate due to you not knowing the person well enough or at all in a personal manner.

He is 100% in the wrong and he and his cronies have just double down over and over rather than just defusing it asap by saying "I was wrong, I am sorry"

All I see is yet another example of a man used to doing what he likes and not being used to hearing and respecting the word no.

Once one party says it is not consensual, it is pretty clear cut and no amount of waffle being chucked about changes that.

As for your "similar" example, it could well be that the jockey and horse owner know the other well enough for such an in the moment gesture to be acceptable both ways and for it to simply be a "****ing yes we did it" moment in the heat of victory.

FWIW this was the initial paraphrased reaction/apology...

Hermoso direct quote afterwards too - Hermoso downplayed Rubiales' behaviour earlier on Monday, saying the kiss was "no big deal" and blaming "the emotion of the moment."

"It was a mutual, totally spontaneous gesture because of the huge joy of winning a World Cup," she said in a statement to news agency EFE. "The 'presi' and I have a great relationship. ... It was a natural gesture of affection and gratitude."

Jaco, to be honest you had big outraged speech about the Hermoso incident and then just kinda explained the Kirrane one away in a few words fobbing it off. If you are going to be outraged at one, should you not outraged at the other? Equality after all.

I don't think think you are wrong either btw & I think both were quite clearly in the heat of the moment and not sexual whatsoever but surely both should be treated equally?

I’m with you Dan. All this woke bull**** where you can’t even grab a bird’s head and kiss her on the mouth in front of millions of people at the biggest moment of their life. ****ing liberal bedwetters.

And someone else kissed someone, and despite knowing nothing about that other incident we can conclude that it’s exactly the same because superficial comparisons are really great arguments, and it proves yet again that libs are illogical and hypocritical and that we’re really smart.

Because one has had an involved party come out and say the intimate contact was not consensual and that party has since come under pressure to reverse her stance.

If the second "incident" had an involved party come out and say it was not consensual then that would be discussion worthy. Otherwise it is just being chucked out there as the strawman arguement I suspect it was initially being used as.

Have no idea what the "equality after all" comment was meant to mean. Wrong is wrong, gender does not come into that.

Sorry if that is "mansplaining" (oddly enough never knew one man could "mansplain" to another man but learn something new every day) and making you feel like you also have to leave the site.

Is this saying it was non-consensual? Apparently this was what she said in her first response to the incident...

She stopped feeling the pressure to protect her boss (and therefore herself) and to avoid causing uproar and a distraction from winning the World Cup. Other people created the uproar so the need to prevent one had gone away? Downplaying something in the context of World Cup winning celebrations is a pretty unique context and reflecting on it in the cold light of day leads to a different conclusion?
