I think its pretty clear that Sterling is twice the player he was last season and better again from the season before when he left us.

    Well, from my POV anyway.

Sterling's talent is now consistently shining through, and Pep should take the accolades as he's found a system and a training regime to bring Raheem on.

I think Raheem would have had a similar development path under Klopp as well.

To my mind Sterling > Mane, and that's not an attack on Sadio, just how good Sterling is.

LFC would be even better IMO with a front three of Sterling - Bobby - Salah. I'm not complaining though as I'm very happy with our forward line.

The squad was declining under Rijkaard, so while he had done a great job winning the CL in 2006 and the league wins during that period, the generation of players who won those titles needed to be moved on. It was Pep who really brought them right back to the top of world football.

Obviously he has had the opportunity of spending millions everywhere he has been, and no doubt that it had made his life easier. But, as Madrid showed us with their Cristiano Ronaldo generation of Galacticos and Manchester United have seen recently, it isn't as easy as just buying the most expensive players available.
Barca had 4 seasons without winning anything before he took over, inherited a poor side too. Those players you mentioned were past it but also were integral to them winning back to back league titles, domestic cups and a champs league under Rijkaard. It may have went south for Rikjaard in the end but he is the one who brought likes of Messi, Xavi & Iniesta through (Arguable 3 of the most important players in the clubs history). Messi himself has said Rijkaard is the most important coach of his career. The team that Guardiola inherited from Rijkaard was ridiculous. Guardiola was the one that gave them a new identity.

We all know Pep is a top class manager but I do think the role Rijkaard in setting that long term foundation is often over looked. Very much the forgotten man.

Listening to the commentary marvel over the introduction of the VAR like the first time they've seen fire is hilarious.

Its become so common in other sports I just don't get why it is such a major deal in football.
              Modifying post.

Look at Madrid under Jose , they were a horrible team in his identity

Pep always tries to play football and keeps to his idealogy ,just like our Jurgen

Even with his centre backs i mean signing Masher and playing him there i thought he was mad.

                    Buffon

                    Dani Alves----Ramos----Chiellini----Marcelo

                    Hazard----Modric----Kros---- KVB

Hazard seems the odd one out for me over 2017, maybe even Ramos that were good in the first half, but hardly excelled in the second half. Guess that also goes for Ronaldo and most Real players.

Ronaldo has hardly been setting the world alight in the last 6 months either.

Really seems picked by fame rather than impact. Well Real were always gonna get a lot of players in it because of second CL, but it's hardly a vote on the whole of 2017. I feel Messi, Buffon, KVB and Alves is pretty deserved, maybe also Chiellini but besides that it's kinda hard to really say anyone have been outstanding.

                              Needs a proper No.9 and a DM.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
