Not good enough, but the best we have. Sadly this seems to be a common theme with players in our first XI atm.

Mignolet, Toure, Johnson, Lucas, Gerrard & now Lambert.
    Forwards.......

well koeman seems to have made a team at soton which is bigger than the sum of its parts,so why not look at our own starting lineup as something similar?

i know we're all dissapointed this season hasn't worked out like we'd all hoped, but i think things are slowly starting to get together, and for what it's worth i do not care who's playing and who's not as long as they perform as a proper team and go on a good run

Played a part in the first goal, major role in their sending off, held the ball up well and linked play well (when not offside which was his big failing tonight).

Definitely starting to find his feet.
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

He's doing well, great to see. More confident, linkup play is good & his work ethic is excellent for a big man. Hopefully see a few more goals from him if we keep the same balance in the team & few of our midfielders hit form.

I dont mean to pick on you Dan, but this is one of my least favorite things in football. Why does his size predispose him from working hard?

Would you have preferred if I said not very athletic & slow man? Was trying to be diplomatic about his mobility & the role we ask him to play.

Just think its such a coverall term. People used to say it all the time about Crouch. Good feet for a big man. What does that even mean though?

Ibrahimovic is big but no one ever says that about him. Just think its too reductive.

To be honest i didn't think it was a big deal calling him a big man. He's a big guy, slow & not very mobile. I was trying to be diplomatic but I'll say that instead of big man from now on in, as I know how pedantic people can get on here

I think we can throw some hard statistics into this equation.

What is your size and are you any good at football?
                    Oh I don't know.

You are not getting my point.

Im not objecting to you using it, im objecting to the idea that because he is a Bigger guy his work ethic is worse. Or in Crouch's case that his ability to control the ball should be worse.
