Yeah totally believable but this was the first I had heard of any of it. hence why i was asking.

I suspected there was some ulterior motive because that's the way FIFA seem to work...

    WTF??
It's clear they're trying to encourage supporters from poorer countries to stay away. Chunts.

They could always pull out some megaphones. Lord knows away teams have done it enough at our ground.

Just leave the game inside the stadium related to whatever is going on in there.

Yeah that would be fine. Get some party hats, sell some pies, all good.

The article above talks about "around the game and city" so it sounds like that won't be an issue.

Instinctively I agreed, but maybe the free for all system is fine too. Obviously there are limits, don't want incitement of violence, but I don't think either issue you mentioned would come close to that.

They need to make some of those rules a little more clearer. No slogans on shirts, but in the crowd along the boundaries I've seen everything from pride stuff to palestine stuff. I'm one of those people who believe you should see nothing but the sport you're watching. Otherwise it opens the door for every single cause out there to rock up and just pull attention.

I'm not sure there's a difference, between now and the end of the tournament.
