Fair play to Vlad he had a lot of skill but he was quite fragile. It's a shame he didn't have the physique to make better use of his talent.

In the real world, less so. You use Costa as an example. Do you reckon Chelsea swanned in for him the day before he signed, or was the ground work put in over the months prior to his transfer, with many clubs chasing his signature?

If you choose to believe the latter, then you'll see why the limited number of premium quality attacking players available, at the right price is extremely low with several clubs competing for them. Then you'll see why it isn't straight forward incompetence.

2 years ago sylvan marveax (spelling) failed his medical with us.
He went on to join Newcastle the same window. Not sure if he ever played, but think they released him a couple weeks back

Did Remy not fail a medical for someone the last time we were linked with him because of the same heart condition (if that is actually why he failed now)? Obviously other clubs took the punt and there have been no issues for them so far.

Edit: He passed the medical but Marseille discovered the problem shortly after and there was talk of the transfer getting cancelled.

Cissokho failed the medical at Milan when he played for Porto apparently due to his teeth. A couple of months later he signed for Lyon. It was only a couple of seasons after he moved to Valencia. Both Valencia and Lyon have publicly stated that they couldn't find any dental related irregularity with him.

I think clubs generally try to keep it quiet because it can potentially ruin a players career if it becomes common knowledge because other teams won't want to go near them.
