I don't think the two are related at all.

I would also go as far as saying that midfield would be fine too but would understand if we signed another cm with talk of Lucas leaving. If we end the summer with Lacazette (alternative to Remy), Manquillo, Lovren and Moreno our squad will be pretty strong indeed. It's a nonsense to suggest we desperately need a Reus/Isco type signing
I'm not fixated with a big money signing but I want us to sign the best quality of player we can and Reus is very much in that bracket. We have improved our squad but from an attacking sense we are still short of quality without Suarez.

Remy is out of the equation and was only a bench option I suspect, Lambert is an impact sub and not good enough as a starter, Borini tries hard but isn't good enough. Sturridge is prone to injury and won't go the season without missing 10-15 games history shows us this, take Sturridge out and I really worry for us at this moment.

Reus isn't a striker but still averages 1 in 2 plus shed loads of assists and can create some moments of pure genius like Suarez, we are going to need a player of that ilk if we are to challenge, at the moment I see a struggle for the top 4 especially with the extra games in the CL, as we don't have enough match winners who can create a goal out of nothing when the team is struggling.

We have the cash, we have the profile now plus the CL status, IMO we should be aiming for better players. We tried hard for Sanchez who is of the quality I'm talking about. I don't understand why we aren't going back for a player with that undoubted quality?

Am a bit gutted - he represented a quality second choice at very good value. Hope we don't have to compromise too much if we're unable to find that value elsewhere.

He was the perfect Sturridge back back. Cheap, pace, goals, Premiere league experience.

Meh, we should have been aiming higher than him anyway.

Totally agree. Looked at his stats and Southampton didn't start him at all last year. Even a Lambert got more starts for them.

                        Bullet dodged
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

Disappointing this is, feel for Remy too.

What the duck are we going to do now?

                                Very disappointing.

And FWIW, as I've said a few times, that Jay's main source of info is a really good one. Not right all the time obviously but worth listening to.
