It's a youtube comp so don't get too excited but it does highlight his pace and trickery.

I think he'd suit our style of play just fine.

Lyon also supposedly wants about £10m.

If Remy was getting the number 7 shirt I think that pretty much rules out any attacking superstars like Reus arriving

Really wasn't worth taking a chance on Remy, not even at 5mill!

He would take the place of another fully fit striker, his chances of being out injured would be increased and if he broke down we'd be left short, and maybe at a critical time.

Look at West Ham and AC, how they wish they hadn't taken a chance on him!

I really don't know why people are so fixated with us going for a big money signing. Had we signed Remy our attacking positions would have been well covered. I would also go as far as saying that midfield would be fine too but would understand if we signed another cm with talk of Lucas leaving. If we end the summer with Lacazette (alternative to Remy), Manquillo, Lovren and Moreno our squad will be pretty strong indeed. It's a nonsense to suggest we desperately need a Reus/Isco type signing

We have improved our squad depth but we have less true difference makers now that Luis is gone.

Isco is not what we need but Reus would be type of signing that imo would puts us back in a title contention for next season.

In addition, signing someone like Reus would also send a signal that we can still attract top players and more importantly help us recruit more next summer (as goal this season is to improve depth) as high quality players want to play with top footballers.

It's quite disappointing as I was confident that Remy would've been a good option for us. When it comes to medicals I'd rather sway on the side of caution. It really depends. I can think of players like Ba whom is supposed to have a terrible knee, but is never injured. Guys like Robben who have had several bad injuries but still maintain great fitness and then Gabi Milito also failed a medical here (and one at Real Madrid earlier), Barca bought him for over double the fee we were going to pay a few seasons later and ended his career relatively quickly after and had several long term injuries playing few games.

So even if we have to look elsewhere, I'd prefer we avoided buying a Milito. Wonder which direction we'll go to now.

I wonder if we will now keep Borini and splash big money on a wide forward ie Moura instead of a striker

Its not about money, but about true quality. A player than can make the difference. We have lost the one thing that made us amazing, and not really bothered about a replacement. This for me is a mistake. Remy was decent enough, but did not look like he was going to conjuer something from nothing every other game.

You may be right in thinking we have enough going for us in the rest of the players in attack, and with a slightly improved back line, this may be enough to carry us to top four.

If I was the opposition, I would not be as afraid of us, and would be happier to commit players forward to test our defence.

I hope I am wrong, and whatever the club goes with work our for the best. I just look at Spurs though, and think that could be us. People talk about Keegan and Rush (and Torres), but to be fair we have lost a player who was much better than those, and playing for a team that is nowhere near those from the 70s and early 80s (and the opposition was weaker). Losing Suarez is going to hurt, unless we pull something out of our arses (and it could be that Sterling proves to be the proverbial rabbit... that was from a hat... whatever).

I know with the amount of exposure the game gets its almost impossible to get a bargain, and we obviously think Divi Orgy is going to be a good player down the line, presumably Remy was a stopgap.

The kicker for me is we have not signed a single player who would not have come if we had not finished top four. At the moment we look weak and a selling club.

Klopp was adamant that Hummels wasn't leaving which we all thought was great cos United wanted him so bad. He was also adamant that Reus is going nowhere either. Not happening folks and I don't think we even want a mega signing like that going by what Brendan said the other day.

Whether that's the right thing to is another question, time will tell.

I worry that he was getting number 7 too. Would possibly indicate that we aren't changing the formation and I think we really need to, we can't carry on conceding shed loads of goals. It's not all down to the players, system needs looking at too.

The Spurs comparison is stupid, we've got a better manager, dont have a divide between manager and DOF and have a better team with high quality players like Sterling, Sturridge and Coutinho already here who you ridiculously underrate.

Doubt we'd have got Markovic with no CL either, Tony Barrett has said so too. The last sentence is just utter drivel.

surely it would depend if that player wanted the number 7 shirt.
                              who's arsed?
