    Those cheeky scamps at Goal.com

Chelsea have made a shock enquiry for Queens Park Rangers forward Loic Remy following Didier Drogba's injury, Goal understands.

The Blues are still awaiting confirmation regarding the severity of Drogba's ankle knock, sustained during the club's 2-1 friendly victory against Ferencvaros on Sunday, and are keeping their options open.

Remy had been set for an £8 million transfer to Liverpool earlier this summer before the move broke down amid reports of a failed medical.

He had attracted interest from Tottenham and Arsenal prior to the Reds making their move, and now Chelsea have entered the frame in the wake of Drogba's set-back.

The Ivorian could miss the start of the Premier League season, with the Blues kicking off against Burnley next Monday.

Jose Mourinho had declared his summer spending over in mid-July, with Diego Costa brought in from Atletico Madrid for £35m to bolster the club's forward line, but then clinched the signing of Drogba on a one-year deal.

And Mourinho may be forced back into the market to secure another striking option with the severity of Drogba's knock still to be determined.

Remy, 27, has been back in training with QPR and Hoops boss Harry Redknapp hopes he will be fit to face Hull City on Saturday.

"He's here, he wants to work and get in the team," he said.

"He's worked really hard on the training ground, I couldn't have asked for any more from him. He's trained great and his attitude's been first class.

"Hopefully with a week's training he'll be fit to play next week."

They signed Ba even though he couldn't pass a medical if memory serves.

Must be great being able to spend £8m and not care if it goes straight down the drain.

It's not a huge risk though is it?

Dunno not seen his medical file, but I assume (maybe mistakenly?) that it must be something to do with getting insurance or rather not getting it.

We obviously don't know any of the details, but clearly we think it's too big a risk. If QPR and maybe Chelsea can get insurance for him then I'm sure we could too. If we have someone else lined up then great, if we don't then I think it's a bigger risk not having a second striker as cover for Sturridge.

No agreed, but if I had to guess it would be that when he took his original medical at QPR he may have passed.

Whatever the issue is now, has cropped up subsequently.

The point about Chelsea is that maybe they are prepared to proceed without insurance because they are so loaded that they can afford to write off Remy's fee and wages if he becomes a crock.

                          Moral question:

Which is more immoral in your opinion: badger baiting or badger masturbating? In the masturbation case you would clearly need to sedate the badger - just enough that he wouldn't fight it but not so much that he wouldn't feel it.

I've often thought about this myself and in the end it came down the the use of sedation and required delivery of medicine with (in my case) little training or qualification in the use of that medicine. Chances are the product used for sedation would also have to be aquired through nefarious means too or at least be used for a purpose other than its intended use. So between impersonating a medical professional, practicing medicine without a license and illegal acquisition of narcotics I've come to the conclusion that badger masturbation is probably the greater evil.

However, had I been a trained medical professional (even a dentist) then i'd quite happily wank off a badger but of draw the line at baiting one.
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.
