That's a load of bullocks...he was thinking and writing on social media what millions of us 'normal' people would have done...but dare I say in an even lighter tone...that does not justify the response or partly shifting the blame to the victim here..regardless or not if he was rich or a popular figure...The response was utterly sickening. ..If your mate was black, a normal joe, and posted the same thing on faceook or twitter word for word and he got the same responses, would you feel the same as above?

Your post is a load of bullocks. I'm not justifying the response and he's not a normal bloke.

The response was vile but yeah him posting a comment like that is opening himself up to abuse. Not the smartest thing and I'd rather see him make headlines on the pitch rather than social media.

Not his fault this, but when he's on the field we tend to go long more often that not, which doesn't suit us at all. It reminds me a bit of how we played with Andy Carroll in the team, the temptation to play it long is just too much.

Unlike Carroll though it looks like he's in the team to stay so we better find a way to play passing football with him playing or we're going to struggle.

Funny as it was it's a sad state of affairs when all you have to laugh about on a weekend is your rivals losing because your own team is slightly less ****.

Why was it opening himself up to abuse? It was a couple of words joking about another football team.

Why should he have to think twice about what he writes for fear of racial abuse?

Hes not made any headlines either, the morons who replied did.

IMO i don't honestly think so that is due to him being the target man... i think it's the delivery choices made by certain defenders when the pressure is on them... i will be keen on viewing Mostar's latest vids on him...

The abuse is completely out of order but this is Twitter we're talking about.

My personal opinion is that if you can't laugh it off or see the responses for what they are (ie low grade scum that are not worth the keyboard they typed on) then you shouldn't be on there.

He should be more wary of what he says on twitter, for professional reasons nothing to do with racist dickheads.

And the racist dickheads are scum.

It's possible to disagree with his tweet without in any way thinking it brought on, justified, lessened etc the racism.

Christ, he's entitled to have a laugh. Just like any Utd or Everton players are entitled to laugh when we're losing to Villa at home or whatever.

Reading the article in the Guardian about Balotelli and his upbringing, he may struggle to 'laugh it off' and nor should he. Equally, I don't think he should avoid a platform for him to relate to everyday fans just because he can't 'see through' racial abuse. He's laughed at a score line that everybody other than Manchester United fans laughed at, there is no way he should laugh off what he has being subjected to for 24 years.

He should think twice about goading other teams and their fans on social media because it's unprofessional. The clubs go to great lengths to limit anything that could increase antagonisation between the rival sets of fans.

The racist response is a separate issue, he certainly hasn't invited it, but it doesn't make his initial tweet any more desirable.

I'm not sure he was goading the others. I feel he was endearing himself to our fans
