I'm not sure what people were expecting when he was signed. Surely they'd seen enough of him in the past to realize what sort of player he was ??

Luxury player, overrated by many, capable of scoring the odd worldie, but they are few and far between. Easy to wind up, easy to take out of the game. Unsuited to certain playing styles etc etc

Lambert is even more static than Balotelli. Both would struggle to play in a 1 man attack.

We didn't do enough to sign the better players that were available. Maybe Costa was out of reach, but Sanchez should be a red today.

It's pretty well documented we couldn't persuade Sanchez to live in Liverpool instead of London. Not sure there's an awful lot you can do about that, we seemed to try long after that had emerged.

Seriously though I'm not sure what else we could have done if Sanchez specifically wanted to love in London as was reported, sure we might be a famous name but Arsenal are hardly minnows to make the choice an easy one. And it isn't as if we have unlimited resources to blow their wages offer out of the water.

Should have gone after Costa the previous summer as an alternative to solely relying on SAS every game. He would have been bedded in nicely by now and would have helped us keep the momentum and movement we're so lacking now...

Welbeck's just having a purple patch. He's Andy Cole MkII. Needs 35 chances to net one. Can look half decent in a free-flowing team, but not a natural finisher in the same league as some other Prem superstars. Also has a **** 'wedge' hairdo.

You forgot the most important deficiency. He's ex Man U.

He's a quality player and will get better and better if played regularly as a striker.

It's too early to judge MB. He needs to find a spark which everyone knew was missing, including BR. It's his job to try to make it happen and he will do his best. That was the 16m gamble. No ones fault if it doesn't happen. We were in a hole. At least he was relatively cheap.

We did go after Costa the summer before last, he signed a new deal with Atletico instead and a few months after the done deal to Chelsea rumours started.
