Nah I'm sure an Italian team or even the likes of West Ham would stump up £10m. The reason we'll effectively give him away is because it's very clear that we want to offload him.

And this is the most likely outcome.

£7m would be a reasonable offer for him, if you think along the lines that he's a year into his contract and he's a striker who has scored one league goal in a season. Also, he doesn't pass or contribute to team play, shoots wildly on sight, only runs for five minutes after coming on, berates team mates for not passing exactly where he wants the ball, is a bit too enthusiastic on social media...

        Nicely summed up

I am sure I read that the £7m was our asking price? Rather than what they are offering?

As much as we might not like the idea, it could be the best option, if he's available for ~£7m and there are very few people interested his value has seemingly hit rock bottom, if he goes out on loan and has a decent season his value would increase and it might drum up some interest.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

The option to buy would never be activated and he'd end up on loan elsewhere. Even if he is sold for £7m, I bet we'd still be paying a proportion of his ludicrous £100,000 a week.

Much as he's been rubbish, even though he's costing far too much and is a bit of an idiot - I'd still like him to come good. Never gonna happen though!

I'm not saying the signing has been anything other than a disaster, but if he has a decent season out on loan somewhere then at least there will be interest in him (either from the side we loan him to or someone else). Last season he was so bad that at the moment there isn't even that.

Mario needs to go to a mid table club where the manager will kiss his arse every day. His ability would likely drag an average side to one in contention for a Euro spot. He is immensely talented but he has to be treated like a star. If he isn't there is no point in having a player like him.
                  Forwards.......

Exclude him when they play against us as part of the sale agreement

You aren't allowed to do that anymore.

Loan for a few weeks with obligation to buy afterwards?

Maybe we should give them £7 million to get rid of him, we're going to lose half of that in paying his wages this year anyway.
