I am, in the grand scheme of things, not too unhappy with Mario staying, if we offload Lambert and Borini I think he's actually not a bad person to have in back up, plus I reckon I actually brings in a fair bit of revenue.

Yes he's lazy, and hasn't been great so far, but he wouldn't be top of my outgoings list as he would be for some people.
The 100k a week the club is paying him could be used a little better I would suggest. I don't think being a bit of a character around Melwood justifies that sort of wage do you ?

      He isn't worth 100k a year

Yep, I'm with you. Mentioned it before but it's good for the club to have a world renowned name.

Maybe just maybe we'll see a different Mario this year if he stays. With Benteke 's arrival it's going to add some pressure and he might put the fight in with next summer being the Euros and him wanting to go with Italy.

This guy is poison and in the opinion of team management is unlikely to add much to the team/squad this year. Bearing that in mind, why aren't we willing to take a big write-off? Surely they didn't say to themselves last year "He might be a gamble but at least we'll get our money back if it doesn't work".

Mario Balotelli could be offered the chance to end his Liverpool nightmare - by making a move to ambitious Serie C outfit Lupa Castelli.

Italy striker Balotelli joined the Reds in a £16million deal last summer but failed to settle at Anfield and scored just four goals in all competitions for the club.

Liverpool have signed Christian Benteke and Danny Ings this summer, and with Daniel Sturridge also on their books, they are widely reported to be happy to listen to offers for their Italian misfit.

But with Liverpool so far not finding any suitors for the former AC Milan, Man City and Inter striker, Serie C side Castelli have outlined ambitious plans to sign him on loan.

Speaking to Sky Italiam, Castelli’s club president Marco Amelia said: "Our intention is to bring our friend, Balotelli, here, a player who at this time needs to start afresh because we see that he does not want to play anymore, has fans opposing him and is no longer able to show his quality.

"For Mario, this could be the first step towards cleaning up his act, taking two steps back and showing everyone what he is capable of doing. Six months here would be useful to him to start the path of purification.

"He must regain humility and enthusiasm that allowed him to break into football matters when he was starting out."

Amelia admits a deal for Balotelli looks unlikely, but will still press ahead with plans to ask him.

"It will be difficult, almost impossible, but I will try anyway," he added. "I hope that the importance of the city of Rome and our friendship helps me.

"I’ll try to call Mario Balotelli. On an economic point of view, we’ll see what happens. I think that at this time Mario needs to find the will he needs to compete. It will be tough, it will be almost impossible as it is something that football has never seen, but he could do it.”

As none of them are world class, it is irrelevant.

I'd bite their hands off for £7m

I still honestly believe whoever gave the nod to sign him should walk. Without doubt our worst signing ever, absolutely no redeeming features about him or the transfer.

                            Crikey.

Surely we can get close to £10m for him.

Maybe if he was prepared to play in China or the Middle East! No sensible club would touch him and it is more than obvious we are desperate to get rid so we are not in a strong bargaining position.

We will end up loaning him out.
