I think it depends how we set up next season and who we keep in the squad you'd think that if we do try and bring him in the likes of Lucas, Allen, Tex and Alberto would be surplus to requirements from the midfielders we've got. You'd hope we do try and keep Lucas as it's an area of the pitch we've lacked quality for a bit.

If it's in to replace Allen then i'm all for it. Not really a fan of Illara & not quite sure if we need him, even without Allen. I guess the question is whether Lucas is being sold or not.

I see Southampton are linked to both Imbula or Clasie with the Schneiderlin money. I think either of those would be a good addition to our midfield. I remember we were linked to Clasie just after Rodgers got the job and he has developed well.

Imbula is different to him and would give the power to our midfield that we are lacking and is apparently available for €20m - would be better option than Illara I think.

Southampton do seem very shrewd with their targets.

As regards Illara he's a deep lying midfielder, sure we have Can,Allen & Henderson who can do that role. Personally I would rather we either keep Lucas or if Lucas is sold buy a specialist DM.

Medel would be a great buy if he was available but I suspect that Inter will be hoping that he and Kondogbia can once again work as well together as they did when together at Sevilla

Which is why they probably don't need Imbula. Those two are powerful but not so creative so you'd think that Kovacic or Hernanes would be the other one of the midfield three. Depends on what formation Mancini goes with but I remember he likes two holding

There isn't another player out there that looks so much like alonso in playing style other than him.
