Henderson took a while but he is now a very important player. He was a good signing.

If Joe Allen is happy to be a squad player then he is a good signing as well. In reality we would get £12m minimum back if we sold him. But I think he is the type of player that is very handy to have in the squad.

Borini, i don't think he was given a fair crack of the whip to be honest. The likes of Balotelli got far more opportunities when Borini got none. What made him a bad signing is that fact that Brendan had already managed him so he should have known how good / bad Borini was. And the fact that when it didn't work out for Fabio, we still recouped more than we paid....so it wasn't a cluster**** of Andy Carroll, Stewart Downing proportions.

Three days ago Shakhtar coach Mircea Lucescu: Alex Teixeira is worth €50m (£38m). CEO Sergiy Palkin today "the price is €70m (£53m)"

Now, if you can't make sense of that then you can understand the position #LFC and Alex Teixeira find themselves in. Frustrating for both.

Shakhtar meet with #LFC. Have ongoing talks about lowering £38m fee. Teixeira thinks club are "working on a solution"
          Shakhtar now want £53m

Wolfsburg made an offer for about £20m and that was rebuffed, so we know the starting position if nothing else!

So it's 50 million pounds now? Where are these figures coming from? Gone from 38 to 50. No idea who to believe.

To all the people saying how "notoriously difficult" these guys are to deal with (based on 1 experience we had with a different club)... how do other clubs manage to buy players off them?

cheers Nev, wouldn't trust their CEO either. But sure if this is true then they have zero interest in selling this window, because there is no way on earth Tex will ever go for that money. Figure quoted is clearly designed to scare us off. Anyways, next!

£50m isn't a new figure, the press were reporting 50m Euro, but I said on Tuesday what I heard SD really want.

I don't see the problem - they don't want to sell till the summer, he has a buy out clause, so if we want him we have to pay the buy out clause.

The muppet Ayre should have known this rather than insulting them with a low bid and pissing them off.

I would say any deal is absolutely dead in the water given the fact they're now asking for over £50m . I think our offer of £25m was very reasonable for a player who has spent most of his career in a ****e league and has yet to win a cap for his country. It's obviously disappointing to lose out on a top target but even Klopp thinks the money they're asking is too much and I am in full agreement with him and the club.
